Chevrolet Silverado 1500 TPMS Reset

This guide covers the TPMS sensor relearn procedure for the 2019-2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The Silverado 1500 can enter a tire learning mode that allows the vehicle to match each wheel’s TPMS sensor to its position.

Before You Start

Set the parking brake and verify that all tires are inflated to the cold pressure listed on the vehicle’s B-pillar or driver’s door jamb sticker.

If you are using the air-pressure change method rather than a dedicated TPMS relearn tool, perform the procedure somewhere quiet enough to hear the horn chirps.

TPMS Sensor Relearn Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition to ON/RUN with the engine off.
  2. Use the steering wheel thumbwheel to find the Tire Pressure page in the Driver Information Center.
  3. Press and hold the thumbwheel or Select button until the horn chirps twice and Tire Learning Active appears.
  4. Start with the Driver Side Front tire. Increase or decrease its pressure for approximately 10 seconds until the horn chirps once.
  5. Continue clockwise: Front Right -> Rear Right -> Rear Left, waiting for the horn chirp after each tire.
  6. After the Rear Left tire is matched, listen for two additional horn chirps indicating that the relearn is complete.
  7. Turn the ignition off and return all tires to the recommended cold tire pressure.
