2019 Model

Silverado 1500 TPMS Reset

Official procedure for 2019 models.

Before you start

  • Ensure the parking brake is set.
  • Verify all tires are inflated to the cold pressure listed on the B-pillar (driver's door jamb) sticker.
  • If using the 'Air Pressure Change' method instead of a tool, ensure you are in a quiet area to hear the horn chirps.
1

Turn the ignition to ON/RUN with the engine off.

2

Use the steering wheel thumbwheel to scroll to the 'Tire Pressure' page in the Driver Information Center (DIC).

3

Press and hold the thumbwheel (or Select button) until the horn chirps twice and 'Tire Learning Active' appears on the display.

4

Start with the Driver Side Front tire. Increase or decrease the air pressure for about 10 seconds until a single horn chirp sounds.

5

Proceed in a clockwise order: Front Right, then Rear Right, and finally Rear Left. Wait for the horn chirp at each tire before moving to the next.

After the Rear Left tire chirps, the horn should chirp twice more to signal the matching process is complete.
7

Turn the ignition OFF and adjust all tires to the correct recommended PSI.

Time Limit: You have 2 minutes to match the first tire and 5 minutes total for all four tires. If the horn doesn't chirp in time, the lights will stop flashing and you must restart the process.
Sensor Battery: If the TPMS light flashes for 60 seconds and then stays solid, it indicates a system malfunction or a dead sensor battery rather than a pressure issue.
Tire Chains: Do not use tire chains on 275/50R22, 275/60R20, or 285/50R22 size tires as they can damage the sensors and the vehicle.
